How to load a heavy pot onto an Omnia Plant Glider

Our Omnia Plant Glider works like a dream when it comes to moving heavy pot plants. It delivers great directional control and won’t tip, because it’s designed for optimum load stability.

But before you can push your plants around, you first have to load your heavy pots onto your Plant Glider!

We often get asked how you can do this without lifting it, and potentially straining your back. The good news is, it’s as effortless as the roll! Here are some simple step-by-step instructions to help you load your plant mover with confidence.

Step 1: Tilt your heavy plant pot

Tilt the pot to one side, as far as you can, without the risk of dropping it. This will make it easier to slide the glider underneath.

It’s a good idea to do this while the soil is fairly dry. Moist soil is heavier and more compact. If it’s too heavy to tilt safely, consider removing some of the soil or plants to reduce the weight.

Step 2: Slide the glider underneath

Position your Plant Glider next to the pot, then slide the glider underneath it as far as you can, using your foot to push it under the tilted pot. This is important: Using your foot, tilt the Plant Glider up so that the top of the Glider is touching the bottom of the Pot (see example below). Avoid using your hands to prevent back strain.

Step 3: Lower your pot onto the glider

Once your Plant Glider is under the pot in a tilted position, slowly lower the pot and the glider back down to the ground together.

Be cautious and avoid sudden movements. The rubber top of the glider should prevent any slipping.

Step 4: Adjust your pot if necessary

After lowering the pot onto the glider, check to see if it’s centred.

If it’s not perfectly in the middle, use the side of your foot to brace the glider and stop it from moving and carefully swivel the pot until it’s centred on the glider.

Step 5: Roll your plant into position!

Once you’re happy that your pot is centred perfectly on your Plant Glider, all that’s left to do is roll it into position in your living room, or on your deck, patio or balcony! It’s now ready to easily move around to chase the weather, sunlight, clean the area or rearrange your display.

One final word of advice
